Duncan
R. McPherson is a principal of Neumiller & Beardslee. He has been
practicing law since 1964 and has been an attorney with Neumiller & Beardslee since
1967. Mr. McPherson has extensive experience with residential and commercial
subdivision development and documentation; common interest subdivisions including
condominiums and master planned communities; the formation and operation of
community associations; subdivision regulation and sales; real estate brokerage law and regulations; real estate sales; commercial and ground leasing; the organization of real estate and development entities; and real estate finance.
With a long-standing involvement in land development, real estate, and
community association law, Mr. McPherson is actively involved in a number of
organizations related to these practice areas. He currently belongs to the California
Building Industry Association’s Department of Real Estate Council where he serves
as the council chair (the council consists of representatives of developers, title
companies, subdivision attorneys and consultants who deal with issues of common
interest developments and Department of Real Estate regulation), the Building Industry
Association of the Delta, the Community Associations Institute where he is an emeritus
but active delegate to the Community Association Institute’s California Legislative
Action Committee (CLAC) and is a member of the American Bar Association, Real
Property, Probate and Trust Section, where he has been Co-Chair of the H-1 Committee
(development, operation, and management of community associations) and Chair of the
H-6 Committee. He is also a member of the State Bar of California and the San Joaquin
County Bar Association. Mr. McPherson is rated “AV” (the highest possible rating) by
Martindale-Hubbell, the standard directory of attorneys in the United States.
Mr. McPherson holds a BA from the University of California at Berkeley and a JD from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). In 1964, he was admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Court of Military Appeals.
Mr. McPherson served in the United States Army as a Judge Advocate officer prior to
joining Neumiller & Beardlsee.
