Michael R. Tener
A Brief Biography

Michael R. Teneris an associate attorney with Neumiller & Beardslee whose practice areas
include civil litigation, bankruptcy litigation, and judicial foreclosure. With the firm, Mr.
Tener represents a diverse group of clients ranging from private individuals and homeowners’
associations to bankruptcy trustees and public agencies such as the Cities of Galt and Stockton,
for whom Mr. Tener handles collection of delinquent special taxes.

Mr. Tener joined the firm in 2007 upon graduation from the University of California, Davis
School of Law (King Hall), where he served on the Moot Court Board and the Recruitment,
Retention, and Outreach Committee as well as the law school’s Admissions Committee.
Additionally, Mr. Tener was Circulation Editor for the U.C. Davis Journal of Juvenile Law &
Policy, represented the law school as a captain of its 2006-2007 Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court
Competition team, and was awarded a public interest grant from the King Hall Legal Foundation.

Prior to attending U.C. Davis, Mr. Tener attended the University of California, Berkeley, from
which he graduated with distinction with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in English. While at Cal,
Michael interned with the United States Department of Commerce’s Trade Advocacy Center in
Washington, D.C., a unit tasked with coordinating diplomatic support for American business
interests across the globe.

Mr. Tener is a member of the State Bar of California and of the San Joaquin County Bar
Association, where he serves as chair of the executive committee of the Barristers section and
contributes to the Across the Bar publication. Mr. Tener is also a 2009 graduate of the Greater
Stockton Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Stockton program.

Mr. Tener was admitted to practice in California in 2007. He is also admitted before the United
States District Courts for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California and before the United
States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
