The laws relating to environmental compliance affect virtually every business, industry, municipality, and even the general public. Attorneys specializing in environmental law advise businesses and individuals on numerous aspects of environmental law and regulatory compliance.

This department assists both public and private clients in obtaining and defending required permits, such as waste discharge, hazardous waste, solid waste, and air quality. When necessary, the attorneys provide litigation assistance, prosecuting and defending clients in cost recovery actions and administrative appeals before various governmental agencies.

This department handles matters under U.S. and California Environmental laws, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Superfund Act CERCLA, the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Proposition 65, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, including storm water and waste water regulations.

This department represents clients in successfully negotiating the process of environmental compliance in obtaining land use entitlements, as well as defending and attacking improper environmental standards and permit requirements that may be challenged under CEQA and NEPA.
